Round two on the Blizzard!

It started snowing again today around 4 pm. They are calling for 20 more inches of snow! Some people like my sisters family haven't even been able to leave their houses yet from the last snow storm! Since we have snow days I spent a couple hours on Skype with Amber, Aly, and the rest of the crew. The kids have had no school this week so far and they canceled it for the rest of the week today! We ended up getting 12 more inches of snow here.

Now the work begins.Thursday will be a day for digging out again following the blizzard that pounded Maryland and most of the mid-Atlantic on Wednesday. This is now officially the snowiest winter on record for Baltimore. BWI-Marshall Airport has recorded 79.9 inches of snow so far, ecliping the old record of 62.5 inches during the winter of 1995-96.
And late Monday into Tuesday morning there's the possibility of a storm that could drop another 1 to 3 inches on the Baltimore-area.

So what do you do on a snow day?

SNOW DAY!
Besides the obvious of sleeping in and being lazy I blog. Drew and I cleaned the fish tank today which desperately needed it since algae started growing pretty bad. One of our fish named "Gretta" wasn't look-in so hot so we scrubbed the tank. It was hard to catch all the fish since we have a pretty small net. But, the cats enjoyed watching us and the fish. So, now the fish have a clean home and unfortunately Gretta didn't make it. :(

A nice clean tank!
We walked over to Chris and Andrea's apartment and it wasn't so bad. The plows came through and did a pretty good job. All our neighbours were out shoveling their cars out. Drew and I said we've never seen so many people in this community at once and thank god we pay for a covered carport and we didn't have to dig our car out! We played "Scene it"on the X-BOX and that was a really fun game. I stayed in first place for our last game! Whoop... whoop!

BLIZZARD of 2010

When Drew and I woke up I couldn't believe how much snow had fallen over the night and early morning. We woke up around 10:30 am. We are having a record breaking snow storm which they are now calling a blizzard. The nation's capital hasn't had this much snow fall since 1922 when they had 28 inches and right now they are at 22 inches, with the snow not stopping anytime soon. Here in Elkridge the news said we have 30 inches already! Drew and I are going to go out in a little while to do our on measurement. The snow looks gorgeous and I wish I had my snow pants and snowboard but, they're in storage. On the news it showed people skiing downtown. The temperature is dropping and one of the roofs at Dulles airport collapsed where they keep private jets. It looks like Drew and I wont be seeing that house showing tomorrow and it's going to get rescheduled again due to more snow. Last weekend we had to reschedule to this weekend for getting 3 inches of snow. I told Drew I wish we had one of our kids already to enjoy this and our bernese mountain dog. Who knows if we will ever get this much snow again in our lifetime. They say 180,000 people have lost power so far. Our apartment is pretty good at not losing power (knock on wood). Mom said they don't have cable or Internet but, they have power still. I'm going to enjoy this snow storm and the time being snowed in with Drew.

Another snow storm!

It started snowing today around 10 am. It started off lite but than became heavy as the hours passed. I hung out with my friend Leah and her family today. I came over around 9 am and we had coffee. I had to cut my visit short since my little brother needed to be picked up from school. After battling the huge lines at the grocery store for a few basics I headed back to Leah's. Leah made us homemade chicken tortilla soup for lunch, which was yummy! We all thought the roads were fine till her neighbor called and said her husband just slide of the road and come too find out later he totalled the car. So, we all knew it was time for me to go home and I left around 5 pm! Leah is such a sweet friend, she went out and cleaned the snow of my car. The side roads were slippery but the highways were okay. Drew closed the office at the same time I left. They say were getting 15 -3o inches and right now we have about 2 1/2 inches. It just snowed a couple days ago and most of it melted but we still had a lot on the ground. This defiantly is the snowiest winter I've ever seen! It really looks like a winter wonderland.

It's SNOWING!

It's snowing... it's snowing! The weatherman told us we weren't going to get any snow, that it was going to pass us and instead we got 6 inches of snow! It was a very pretty snow to watch. The snowflakes were about 1 -2 inches big. My Dad did the "Polar Plunge" today like he has done the past 7 years. He said today was by far the coldest! We picked up my little brother so he could spend the night and that drive was the most stressful drive of my life. Our car did well but slipped around a bit since we only have rear wheel drive. The roads looked and felt like the plow only touched them once and, we didn't leave to get him till about 5:30 pm so the roads should have been okay. So, a drive that normally takes us 15 mins took us almost an hour. When we finally got home we played a game of "Monopoly" and they crushed me!

Belle

This is the last picture I took with her. Jan. 18, 2008. She was as healthy as she could be. We played in the snow and I would have never guessed in a million years that two days later she would die. I love you Belle Belle!

I really can't believe it's been a year. Today's been really tough on me for multiply reasons and Belle is the icing on the cake. I'm really starting not to like January's! You could say I'm getting better dealing with Belle being gone but, it's still really hard. She was a very special dog that I know will never be replaced or even come close to it. Don't get me wrong I love my two kittens but they don't compare to Belle.
My two Belle songs are:
Alicia Keys - No One
I just want you closeWhere you can stay foreverYou can be sureThat it will only get betterYou and me togetherThrough the days and nightsI don't worry 'causeEverything's going to be alrightPeople keep talking they can say what they likeBut all i know is everything's going to be alrightNo one, no one, no oneCan get in the way of what I'm feelingNo one, no one, no oneCan get in the way of what I feel for you, you, youCan get in the way of what I feel for youWhen the rain is pouring downAnd my heart is hurtingYou will always be aroundThis I know for certainYou and me togetherThrough the days and nightsI don't worry 'causeEverything's going to be alrightPeople keep talking they can say what they likeBut all i know is everything's going to be alrightNo one, no one, no oneCan get in the way of what I'm feelingNo one, no one, no oneCan get in the way of what I feel for you, you, youCan get in the way of what I feelI know some people search the worldTo find something like what we haveI know people will try try to divide something so realSo till the end of time I'm telling you there ain't no oneNo one, no one, no oneCan get in the way of what I'm feelingNo one, no one, no oneCan get in the way of what I feel for you, you, youCan get in the way of what I feel for youoh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
