I had to run to catch this plow train. How I didn't fall on the ice I don't know. I even skip a few steps when I ran up them which were really icy. The train scared the crap out of me because as soon as I made it up a huge wave of snow went all over and made me freeze in my spot! Drew was on the steps when it got him and he said it was like a four of five foot wave. Dang it! I wish I had of been a little faster so I could have captured it!

So what do you do on a snow day?
SNOW DAY!
Besides the obvious of sleeping in and being lazy I blog. Drew and I cleaned the fish tank today which desperately needed it since algae started growing pretty bad. One of our fish named "Gretta" wasn't look-in so hot so we scrubbed the tank. It was hard to catch all the fish since we have a pretty small net. But, the cats enjoyed watching us and the fish. So, now the fish have a clean home and unfortunately Gretta didn't make it. :(

A nice clean tank!
We walked over to Chris and Andrea's apartment and it wasn't so bad. The plows came through and did a pretty good job. All our neighbours were out shoveling their cars out. Drew and I said we've never seen so many people in this community at once and thank god we pay for a covered carport and we didn't have to dig our car out! We played "Scene it"on the X-BOX and that was a really fun game. I stayed in first place for our last game! Whoop... whoop!
BLIZZARD of 2010
When Drew and I woke up I couldn't believe how much snow had fallen over the night and early morning. We woke up around 10:30 am. We are having a record breaking snow storm which they are now calling a blizzard. The nation's capital hasn't had this much snow fall since 1922 when they had 28 inches and right now they are at 22 inches, with the snow not stopping anytime soon. Here in Elkridge the news said we have 30 inches already! Drew and I are going to go out in a little while to do our on measurement. The snow looks gorgeous and I wish I had my snow pants and snowboard but, they're in
storage. On the news it showed people skiing downtown. The temperature is dropping and one of the roofs at Dulles airport collapsed where they keep private jets. It looks like Drew and I wont be seeing that house showing tomorrow and it's going to get rescheduled again due to more snow. Last weekend we had to reschedule to this weekend for getting 3 inches of snow. I told Drew I wish we had one of our kids already to enjoy this and our bernese mountain dog. Who knows if we will ever get this much snow again in our lifetime. They say 180,000 people have lost power so far. Our apartment is pretty good at not losing power (knock on wood). Mom said they don't have cable or Internet but, they have power still. I'm going to enjoy this snow storm and the time being snowed in with Drew. Friday, February 5, 2010
Another snow storm!

It started snowing today around 10 am. It started off lite but than became heavy as the hours passed. I hung out with my friend Leah and her family today. I came over around 9 am and we had coffee. I had to cut my visit short since my little brother needed to be picked up from school. After battling the huge lines at the grocery store for a few basics I headed back to Leah's. Leah made us homemade chicken tortilla soup for lunch, which was yummy! We all thought the roads were fine till her neighbor called and said her husband just slide of the road and
come too find out later he totalled the car. So, we all knew it was time for me to go home and I left around 5 pm! Leah is such a sweet friend, she went out and cleaned the snow of my car. The side roads were slippery but the highways were okay. Drew closed the office at the same time I left. They say were getting 15 -3o inches and right now we have about 2 1/2 inches. It just snowed a couple days ago and most of it melted but we still had a lot on the ground. This defiantly is the snowiest winter I've ever seen! It really looks like a winter wonderland.

Food Inc.
http://www.foodincmovie.com/I watched "Oprah" the other day and her show was about this movie and after watching her show I added "Food Inc." to my "Netflix"queue. I was really excited to get it in the mail today! Drew and I have been talking about eating better and have made baby steps in what we buy and don't buy. Drew and I just finished watching "Food Inc." and I think everyone should watch this movie! It makes me sick to see how dirty our government is! To put farmers out of business for cleaning their seeds!!!!! Give me a break! This world is full of way too many greedy people! I also became a victim of the spinach e coli outbreak we had in 2006. I became deathly ill after eating a sandwich that had a bed of spinach on it and was hospitalized the next day! I really thought I was going to die and I know my parents thought the same thing! The hospital lost my test results and samples I gave them and discharged me without even telling what was wrong with me! I yelled across the emergency room to my doctor for him to come talk to me and tell me what happened to me but, he just kept his head down and the nurse urged me and my mom to leave. I still get mad till this day if you can't tell! I lost 30 lbs from being sick and couldn't eat anything for a few weeks besides toast and water. I had to reteach myself how to eat and, till this day I'm a very finicky eater! My PCP thought I just had G.E.R.D. and I know that wasn't the problem so, at the time I happened to be working for a holistic pharmacy and I had a few treatments done and I went to a friend who is an acupuncturist and he had me drink this nasty tea drinks but, they helped. The holistic approach is what helped me.
So, I know I got a little off subject but, it does all connect. I can't wait till the day Drew and I have a little bit of land and can grow our garden. We also want to have a little chicken coop to have fresh eggs. It would be nice if one day we can have a little stand at a local farmers market. I want my children to eat healthy and be educated on where their food comes from. We all need to step back and look around us and go back to the old ways. Don't get me wrong I love technology but, you also need to get your hands dirty.
My sister has seven children and while through the years I've gone to many school events, plays, spelling bees ect... and I've told my sister I can't believe how so many of these little girls look like teenagers or women in elementary school! No one looked like that when we were in school. We both agreed it's due to all the hormones in the food!
So in closing like the movie said you have three votes a day. Be smart and look into where your food is coming from and what you're feeding your family. Below are a few links too local farmers near me and sites to help find a local farmer.

It's SNOWING!
It's snowing... it's snowing! The weatherman told us we weren't going to get any snow, that it was going to pass us and instead we got 6 inches of snow! It was a very pretty snow to watch. The snowflakes were about 1 -2 inches big. My Dad did the "Polar Plunge" today like he has done the past 7 years. He said today was by far the coldest! We picked up my little brother so he could spend the night and that drive was the most stressful drive of my life. Our car did well but slipped around a bit since we only have rear wheel drive. The roads looked and felt like the plow only touched them once and, we didn't leave to get him till about 5:30 pm so the roads should have been okay. So, a drive that normally takes us 15 mins took us almost an hour. When we finally got home we played a game of "Monopoly" and they crushed me!

A fresh new start on life!
Drew and I said we're starting fresh! The past few months have been really stressful with his businesses and planning the wedding. We've been fighting a lot which is never a good thing but, especially not when you're only months away from getting married. I hate how money can tear you about the stress it can bring! I swear Drew's businesses are the best and worst thing that happened to us. I know we will pull through like we always do. We have a very special relationship and we know that we're meant to be together. So here is to a fresh start and learning how to deal with stress better!

Now a sour note!
About an hour we received a phone call from a Police Officer that our storage unit was broken into! I swear it's like we can't have one day of normalcy! We always have to have DRAMA!!! I know things could be much worst like they are in Hatti and I'm grateful for what we do have, it just seems like as soon as we get on our feet the rug is pulled out from under us every time! Our unit was one of 114 that were hit. My younger brother drove me up to check it out since Drew was stuck at work. When we walked up to our unit there wasn't even any lock on it. I got after the property manager so he gave me one of theirs and I have to go back up tomorrow with a new one! Since the lighting in those places aren't the best at all I can only tell it's a mess and there is a lot of broken items and a lot stolen like my really nice luggage set that we needed to use next month. Until we pull everything out we won't know the real damage but, I can tell were missing some of my camera equipment, our MAC, some of our
summer clothes, and again it was dark so I dunno. ARGH!!!!! It looks like someone walked all over the boxes and they turned them upside down and broken more than they took I think. What also stinks is we only had a $2,000.00 insurance policy on it and I know more than that was taken and broken. We drove around and saw the whole that was cut in the fence where they loaded up the truck. As you can see the videos and pictures are dark. So it looks like this weekend were moving into a better unit and a better company!
Will see what happen next!
The Apple iPad
Steve Job's did it again! I can't wait to get one of the iPads! It's like a iPhone on steroids! I love my iPhone and I know I would love this! Maybe it will be a birthday present?????

Ke$ha
Me
Ke$ha Sebert
Wow! I've never met another "white" Takisha or Kisha and check this Blondie out!

She says her name isn't Kisha but "Ka-sha" which is very funny because that's one of the name's my great grandmother would call me when she couldn't pronounce my name. lol I think she is 22 or 23 and it's weird that I see a small resemblance. I have to say I think I'm prettier ;)
What do you think?
And look how Hollywood has changed her...

A New Year!
I believe this will be the BEST year of my life! I'm in the process of planing our wedding, which is coming up in May! I'm trying to grow my business and Drew is growing his (our...lol) businesses as well. We plan to buy a townhouse or a house in six months to a year and than the best part... we plan to get pregnant before the end of the year! The only sad part of 2010 that is the move of my sister's family to Arizona in June. That is going to be hard on all of us! In general I was happy with 2009, but am glad to see it go! I am looking forward to a busy, healthy, and exciting 2010!
Below are pictures form New Year's Eve. (soon to come)
